Mined in Wales, Group 1 Black Vein anthracite is best avaialable high quality naturally smokeless coal. Small nuts (stovesse) are best suited to Rayburns. Large nuts (stove nuts) are best suited to Rayburns, Agas and multi fuel stoves. Note that anthracite does not burn well in some multi fuel stoves so a trial is recommended as a deep fuel bed is required. Group 1 is far superior to the poorer quality welshbrite & imported anthracite.
